About Mythoblog
Updated :
Mythoblog is an independent editorial encyclopedia dedicated to the mythologies and folklore of the world. Our mission: to make these foundational stories accessible to general readers without sacrificing rigor.
Our approach
Every article combines three complementary angles:
- Encyclopedic — structured entries on gods, heroes, creatures, places and mythical objects.
- Narrative — retellings that treat each myth as a living story, with its full dramatic stakes.
- Comparative — cross-tradition analyses built around a function, archetype or motif.
Our sources
We systematically cite the canonical ancient sources (Homer, Hesiod, the Eddas, the Puranas, the Kojiki, Mesoamerican codices, etc.) and clearly distinguish attested mythological content from our editorial synthesis. See the details in our editorial policy.
Languages
The site is bilingual French – English. The two versions are conceived as independent pages adapted to each language’s usage, not as a mechanical translation of one another.
Publisher
Mythoblog is published by Paul Abensour, independently. See the legal notice for details.
Privacy
Mythoblog uses no cookies, collects no personal data, and relies solely on a cookieless audience measurement tool (Vercel Analytics). See the privacy policy.
