General principle
Mythoblog is designed to respect reader privacy to the greatest extent possible. The site requires no account or registration, deploys no advertising tracker, and sets no analytics cookie without your prior consent. The only cookies that may be set are those of Google Analytics, and only if you accept them through the dedicated banner.

Data collected
Audience measurement — Vercel Analytics
Mythoblog uses Vercel Analytics, the audience measurement tool built into its host. This tool operates without cookies and without persistent identifiers. It anonymously and aggregately collects:
- the page viewed,
- the approximate country (derived from the IP address, which is not stored),
- the device type and browser,
- the traffic source (referrer).
None of this data can identify an individual visitor. It is used only to understand which content interests readers and to improve the site.

Audience measurement — Google Analytics 4 (consent-based)
Mythoblog also uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited), which stores cookies on your device. This service is only loaded after your explicit consent: until you click “Accept” in the banner, no Google script is requested and no data is sent to Google.
Once you consent, Google Analytics collects in particular:
- the pages viewed and the navigation path,
- the traffic source (referrer, search engine),
- the device type, browser and operating system,
- approximate location (country, region),
- a session identifier stored in the
_gaand_ga_*cookies.
IP anonymization is enabled and no advertising feature is used (ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization remain permanently denied through Google Consent Mode v2).
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR article 6(1)(a), article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).
- Retention: 14 months maximum on Google’s side;
_gacookies expire after 13 months. - Transfers outside the EU: data may be transferred to the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

If you decline, or later withdraw your consent, any Google cookies already present are deleted and the script is no longer loaded.
Contact form
If you write to us at the email address listed on the contact page, your address and the content of your message are kept only for the time needed to process your request, then deleted.

On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline Google Analytics measurement. Declining is exactly as easy as accepting, and it has no effect on your access to the content.
You can change your choice at any time by clicking the “Cookies” link in the footer of every page. Your decision is stored for 6 months, after which the banner is shown again.
You can also disable Google Analytics at browser level with Google’s official opt-out add-on.
Internal search
On-site search is provided by Pagefind, a fully local search engine that runs in your browser. No search query is sent to a third-party server.
Advertising
The site currently displays no advertising and deploys no advertising cookie or tracker. Should a privacy-respecting ad network be integrated in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly and ahead of any activation.

Mythoblog may contain links to third-party sites (Wikipedia, dictionaries, academic references, etc.). We are not responsible for those sites’ privacy policies.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French data protection law, you have the following rights:
- right of access to your personal data,
- right to rectification,
- right to erasure,
- right to restriction of processing,
- right to data portability,
- right to object.
